Allora Consulting is looking for a bright, enthusiastic system’s engineer in training to learn the practical aspects of an IT profession. This opportunity would allow to lay a foundation for an IT career, potentially with Allora Consulting. The ideal candidate must be proficient at problem-solving, self-motivated, very disciplined, good with customer service, and strong communication skills.

The responsibilities of the System Administrator Intern (taught as a trainee)

  • Providing technical maintenance and support for computer networks of Small Business firms: server-based networks (primarily Microsoft SBS 2003-2011), Private Clouds, Remote Access solutions, network infrastructure (WiFi Access Points, routers, switches, etc)

  • Assisting in system design and system integration projects

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Junior or Senior, GPA 3.6 or above

  • Must pass problem-solving test, consisting of:

  • Troubleshooting IT task (as fixing a problem with an Exchange server)

  • Deployment task (configuring a VPN network via Cisco + Sonicwall routers)

  • Multiple choice test

  • Must display professional conduct under pressure and good customer interaction

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments under strict time constraints

  • DISCIPLINED and self-motivated

  • Raleigh-Durham origin and desire to settle in Triangle area is a plus

Deadline: November 11st, 2013

Upon successful completion of the practical training, paid internship will begin with hourly compensation starting at $15/h, 20-40 hours a month. Ultimate desired scenario results in  full-time employment.
